Redneck means “unsophisticated.”  May God help me that I never become sophisticated.

I have just read your entry on Journey to Orthodoxy. I wanted to write and thank you for your openness and sharing your story. You have moved me deeply and given me much to hope for in healing. I will be chrismated on Holy Saturday, coming up quickly. I’m coming out of 32 years of Protestant faith. Thank you, Deborah

    Hi Father,

Does your parish follow the Old or New Calendar?

  5. redneckpriest Says:

    Hi Paul. The Old calendar.

Good afternoon Father, I stumbled across your webpage after some article reading on Pravmir during a lunch break at work. I have enjoyed reading your posts (articles, not real sure what they’re technically called). I’m a convert living in the state of Georgia, and it’s nice to read about ideas from an Orthodox perspective, in a language that I understand and can relate to. Might have had something more thoughtful to say, but I guess I don’t.

    Christ is in our midst!

Hello, brother. thanks for the kind words. Is that Georgia USA or across the pond?

  8. John S. Says:

You’re welcome Father, the South-east U.S. kind of Georgian.

  9. Paula Says:

    Father John,
I came across one of your articles at Pravmir.com and was led to your blog. I love your writings and want to subscribe. Hopefully by submitting this reply I will get an invitation to do so!
Thank you so much for your efforts.
